BoPH Celebrates the International Day of Peace

The International Day of Peace is an opportunity for people around the world to join together and renew their commitment to creating a more peaceful world. The journey towards world peace begins with each of us. Every day we can and must choose to act with compassion and practice peace. Though some days this is easier than others, on the International Day of Peace we remind ourselves that we are fighting together and united we will succeed.

Bridges of Peace and Hope clubs around the world are celebrating the International Day of Peace in many wonderful ways.

AIS Vienna is participating in the Pinwheels for Peace Project to promote “whirl peace.” The first Pinwheels for Peace were installed in Coconut Creek, FL on Sept. 21, 2005. Since then, they have grown from 500,000 pinwheels planted the first year, to four million pinwheels in 2016! AIS Vienna’s students have created more than 100 pinwheels in celebration. They have also created a tribute to their bridge of friendship with the Mukwashi Trust School.

AIS Danbury will be holding a schoolwide assembly to celebrate and contemplate peace as a community. The assembly will feature performances by BoPH founder John Farrell.

Mukwashi Trust School is celebrating the International Day of Peace through artistry and active discussion with students of all ages.
